Starting Sunday, I’m looking forward to beginning a new series I’m calling “RelationSlips.”
Relationships of all kinds can be difficult at times, but the special bond between couples is especially slippery.
Why can our love affairs become so unloving? For one…your relationship as “man and woman” stands in opposition to our Enemy. Christ pointed to the marriage relationship and said that it should be the model of His relationship with the Church. There is no way that Christlike marriages are safe from Satan. That is why Team Church is making the home a huge priority in 2012.
But the marriage relationship was loved by God much earlier than when Christ made His significant statement. In fact, the book of Proverbs is filled with practical helps for a young people searching for the right man or woman, young families with children, and even couples that have been married for a long time.
Relationslips will teach from the book of Proverbs on being a man or woman in relationship with one another. But don’t make the mistake of thinking that it is only for those who are currently married. The wisdom from the book of Proverbs has something for us all.
The first proverb from chapter 9 says, “Wisdom has built her house.” Is your house built on God’s wisdom? Begin reading more proverbs and it can radically improve your walk with God and the atmosphere in your home.
